Emily Holywell (and Luna!)

Social Worker / Play Therapist

Emily is a passionate advocate for children and adolescents from the age of 2 and up, specialising in delivering compassionate therapy tailored to each child’s unique needs. With a focus on play and body-based activities, Emily creates a nurturing environment that fosters engagement and helps children communicate at their own developmental pace.

Emily embraces a holistic approach to support the unique needs of each child. Her practice is deeply rooted in neurodiversity affirming, trauma- informed, and attachment-based principles, ensuring that every child feels understood and valued. She uses a blend of ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and creative play therapy techniques to create a nurturing, playful environment where children can express themselves freely and develop at their own pace. Emily’s child-centred, developmentally appropriate approach is designed to empower children, helping them to build resilience, process emotions, and strengthen their relationships. By integrating expressive modalities with a focus on individual needs, she aims to provide a therapeutic experience that is both engaging and transformative.

Collaborating closely with families and caregivers, Emily offers targeted strategies and insightful education to support children with disabilities, mental health concerns, behavioural challenges, and those recovering from trauma. Her holistic approach ensures that every session not only promotes healing and growth but also empowers families to thrive together.
